My Revlon Lippie Collection

I like to mix my make up with high end and cheaper products. I will try to make sure that I got a unique product from the more expensive brand. Something that I can not find on the cheaper brand. For lipsticks, I think Revlon have the great quality, great price and great colours. I always apply my lip product before I leave home, wipe before I eat/drink anything and forget to re-apply it. I always find myself get bored with the color after just a couple of use. That's why I'm leaning towards cheaper brand like Revlon.

L-R: crimson, rosy nude, peach, soft nude, black berry, nude attitude, mauve it over, strawberry suede, really red, creme brulee, tutti frutti, red velvet,
Top-Bottom: Colorburst in Papaya, Colorstay Ultimate in Supreme Sienna

My favourites are Rosy Nude which provides fresher nudy look for my fair skin, Black Berry (a very versatile color depending on how you use them) and Strawberry Suede, a schizophrenic matte red that changes color depending on the lighting.

Except for the colorstay, one of these cost around Rp 30,000 - Rp 75,000 (if I'm not wrong)

On my wish list at the moment are Berry Smoothie and Black Cherry

What's your favourite color?

My Eyebrow Routine

Ever since I saw Lisa Eldridge used Suqqu Eyebrow Pen to fill her brow, I’ve always been intrigued. The Suqqu one is hard to find and expensive. I picked similar one from Kanebo Media in Watsons, Taiwan. It has been great worn by itself or together with brow shader from MAC. This combination has been a lifesaver for my very sparse eyebrow and oily skin. The powder itself does not last through the whole day, at least on my very oily skin. This liquid based brow pen extends the wear time and adds more depth to my eyebrow.

I’m using the color dark brown, which perfectly match my brow color.  My favorite way using this is on top of the powder and drawing short lines following the hair growth. I find that this method gives more natural finish rather than using powder more heavily

To sum up, I use Mac Brow Shader on top of my foundation, so it can stick better. Then, I set it with the brow pen. All are applied with short strokes following the natural hair growth

FYI: Check out September Cosmopolitan, it contains 2 magazine (Beauty and Fashion), full size Nature Republic Aloe Gel and Too Cool For School Angel Hand.
Plus a coupon for SKII beauty event and sample.

My Skin Care Routine

I’ve been paying more attention to my skin since I started watching skin care videos in youtube. I try to gently clean my skin, double cleanse when I have make up on, and ensure my skin stay hydrated and clean

My skin in very fair, very oily but slightly dehydrated and acne prone. I don’t know my shade in MAC product, because I only have 1 in NC 20 and it’s too dark. It oxidizes like crazy, I look soo…. orange.  But, Bourjois Healthy Mix in 51 is the perfect match.

Since I always clean my face very thoroughly at night, my morning cleansing routine is relatively simpler. I don’t want to over cleanse and dry out my skin.
So, here is what I use for the last few months:

Day – Neutrogena Cream Cleanser

Night –
make up remover: Korres White Tea Water, followed with Dove Oil Cleansing Foam.
Cleanser: Neutrogena Deep Clean Cream Cleanser (yes, I clean my face 3 times, but all are non-drying and use very little of the cream cleanser)

Due to my oily nature, I always look for something that’s non oily, very light, but still hydrating:

Day - Shiseido The Skin Care Hydro-Balancing Softener as toner and light hydration, Natio Eye Contour Treatment Gel, Clinique Even Better Clinical Dark Spot Corrector as serum, light moisturizer.  I’m trying L'occitane Angelica Hydration Cream (the sample sachet), but it’s too hydrating for my oily skin

Night – similar to day routine, but for eye cream I choose something richer and anti aging like Kiehl’s Cryste Marine Firming Eye Treatment.

And I only use Shiseido for spot/acne treatment at night

Currently, I don’t use moisturizer with SPF for my day moisturizer, just because I haven’t found one that is not sticky and doesn’t break me out.  Also, I will be indoor for most of the time. However, when I’m out, I use make up base with SPF in it.

I used to live in Australia for a few years. I don’t know whether this is true or not, I never bake under the sun but, let say if I do, I notice that in Indonesia my skin will get some color, but in Australia, I get brown spots/freckles, no tan. Is it because of the thinner ozone layer?  That’s why I use the Clinique serum to fade some of my sunspots. I’ve used it for about a month, haven’t seen big results yet, but will update how it is when I finished the whole bottle.

Except the Angelica moisturizer, this routine has helped with my acne and kept my face well hydrated. It clogged my pores a little bit. Keep in mind that I don’t suffer from cystic acne, mine are just clogged pores that sometime turn into acnes (only 1-2 acnes every other day).

Product I’m trying to used up:

Dove Oil Cleansing Foam
Shiseido Toner
L’occitane Angelica Hydration Cream (easssyyyy…. So little product hehe)

Wondering... Exfoliating stuff

Funny thing happened when I was in Taipei, Taiwan last month. I was strolling around the beauty counter in Breeze Plaza, and there was some sales person offering free serum sample (forget which brand), so I took it…who wouldn’t?  Of course, this sales girl lured me into the counter (I couldn’t say no after that haha). Since I can’t speak Chinese and she can’t speak English, she just squirt a gel like exfoliating stuff on my left hand and demonstrate how it works. It’s one of those typical gentle exfoliating gel that supposedly remove dead skin cells, evident by the tiny white balls on my hand.

Just a few hours later, I went to Sogo and another sales person from Coni gave free eye mask and took me to her counter, then also squeezed her own gel like exfoliating stuff on my left (same) hand. After a few hours of exfoliation, I expected that there shouldn’t be any white balls of dead skin. However… it did!! This made me wonder whether any of this stuff (from other brands, too) really works? Does it become those tiny balls after the rubbing or it really break the dead skin? I mean, my skin wouldn’t regenerate that fast, is it? My hand did feel softer after both application, but I’m not sure whether it really does what it claims… EXFOLIATION.

Just my thoughts
