November Empties

Just really quick post on what I've used up this month. Basically, the picture is self explanatory except for the Estee Lauder DayWear Plus with spf15.

Palmolive Aroma Therapy - lovely smell but, prefer the Dove one
Loccitane Shea Butter body cream - only little amount needed. It smelled good at the time of application but, I hate the scent after a few hours cause it changed into a weird smell. As if you had a work out and didn't shower the next day. I experienced this with other heavily scented body lotion/cream, too.
Kerastase Bain Clarifiant - to control my oily scalp, really good but, won't repurchase.
Loreal Elvive (Elseve in Indonesia) night elixir - I liked it when I still lived in Melbourne, because I needed it to combat dry weather. However, it made my hair oily here.
Estee Lauder moisturiser - smelled like cucumber, a bit too rich in hot climate. I didn't notice any benefits, too. Luckily, I got this as a sample.

That's it guys... :)

Hong Kong Beauty Haul

Hey guys.. just sharing beauty stuff that I bought in Hong Kong. I went a little crazy because of the price haha. They have so many beauty stores (SASA, Colourmix, Bourjois, Facess, etc) selling from drugstore to high end with huge variety. Basically, I think most of the Japanese brand are cheaper, some US brand are fairly priced, but french skincare brand (Caudalie and may be others) are more expensive. I have to ban myself from beauty shopping until Chinese New Year haha. I guess my biggest finding was a Chanel purse I've been looking for months or perhaps years. I've been looking for the black caviar leather, but I always find them either in caviar/lamb, but never in black. So, when I saw one and the airport store, I knew I had to get it! This will replace my current Prada purse, and I will sell this baby. A girl doesn't need 2 purses, right? :)
Anyway, these are what I got in Hong Kong

- Hair thingy for voluminous bun. I hate teasing my hair
- Caudalie brightening serum and the free sample
- Shu Uemura Mon Shu Cleansing Oil, Eye Shadow Palette, Pro Gel Cealer (loveee...), Eyelash Glue, free make up bag and some samples. I also got my brow done at their brow bar for HKD 250 and it's fully redeemable on product. SCORE
- L'oreal Infallible Eyeshadow
- Benefit cream eyeshadow in skinny jeans
- Chanel Illusion D'Ombre in Mirifique. I'm still bitter cause I couldn't find the Illusoire while unpacking my bagage :(
- Spoolie from SASA
- Jill Stuart Eye Jelly
- Limited edition Rose Gold Burberry Body EDP and some sample spray.. this will be good for handbag
- Chanel Notorious
- Kanebo Media Eyebrow Liquid. This is the only product I use
- Kanebo Lavshuca Eyeshadow
- Kanebo Kate Eyeshadow
- Random nail remover from SASA. I've been very curious with similar item from Bourjois, but it's hard to get. Basically, you stick your finger in the sponge, twist and you got clean nails. It's very cheap  around HKD 20-23 and works well, but the packaging is really bad. As you can see I had to tie it with a hair band, so it won't dry out
- Dior Cannage Couture Palette
- My holy grail eyelid tape - Nexcare
- Shiseido Eyebrow Trimmer. There are 3 of them in the set, but I already use one. I like the clip closure and they're very sharp
- Very cheap eyelash from SASA, cost HKD 58 for 10 pairs

That's all for now. Let me know if you wanna see some swatches or review

Cheers

What's In My Daily Make Up Bag

I don't have time to wear make up in the morning. I prefer to sleep a bit more. Lucky me, I work in a family business, so I don't feel the need to wear make up every day. However, I always have some with me just in case I have to go out.

What's inside:

- Maybelline Clear Smooth Powder Compact for light coverage and some sun protection. Use it with sigma kabuki brush. I will use this until it's all gone hehe
- Make Up For Ever Concealer. Rarely use this, just put it inside if I want more coverage
- Everyday Minerals Blush in Apple. Smooth and pigmented for a warm blush, use this with the silver tube a.k.a retractable brush
- Revlon Eyeshadow palette
- MAC Tinted Lip Conditioner
- Estee Lauder Pencil Eyeliner
- Revlon Grow Luscious Plumping Mascara
- YSL Touche Eclat
- Eyelid tape
- Cotton bud
- Shiseido Eyelash Curler. I think this is comparable to Shu Uemura one, but half the price.
- In2it Waterproof Eyebrow Pencil

I switch the eyeshadow palette, blush and lip product every week. Just make sure that all of them are the natural looking ones

What's in your make up bag?

October Empties and Purchase

It's been a while since my last post. Just combination of being busy, lazy and uninspired. Anyway... these are some of the products I've used up and bought this month

Dove Beauty Moisture Body Wash
I'm not very picky with my body care, I prefer to spend more on face products. This drugstore one is pretty good. It doesn't dry up my skin and cleans well.

Organic Instinct Natural Shampoo and Johnson's Baby Shampoo
I bought the OI in Australia, but I vaguely remember I saw this in Watsons Singapore. I experienced mild to moderate hair loss which I reckon was caused by sensitive scalp. My scalp was itchy and flaky, so I decided to switch to either natural product or baby shampoo. This shampoo doesn't contain all the bad stuff (sls, paraben, etc.. check out their website http://www.naturalinstinct.com.au/ ) and successfully calms the itchiness down. I love the natural lavender smell. However, due to the non-sulphates formulation, it doesn't lather up well, I need to use more to get good lather.

Biore Foaming Hand Wash
Not much to say, cleans well and mildly fragrant

Maybelline Clear Smooth Shine Free Face Powder SPF 18 in Light
Not exactly finished, but I've hit the pan.. first time ever.. YEAH!! I got to say this is not my favourite powder, too powdery for my liking. The colour and extra SPF are good though, to protect and brighten my fair skin which can be dull sometimes. I bought this together with the BB cream. Overall, good combination, because it kinda offset the greyish tone in the BB cream.

Shiseido The Skin Care Hydro Balancing Softener
I've reviewed this one on my skincare routine. Basically, nice toner for a little extra cleanse and moisture

I didn't buy much beauty product this month, because I still have too many unopened skin care stuff and I'm saving up for my trip next month to Hong Kong. However, being a fan of long lasting cream shadow, I couldn't resist the Black Tango Palette from Make Up For Ever. It contains 4 aqua cream formulation in separate little pots, i.e
- black with red highlights
- black with green highlights
- black with blue highlights
- ivory
- double ended synthetic eyeshadow brush

sorry for the blurry picture

I'm glad that they included lids for each pot, to keep them from drying out! The blackened shades are pigmented, creamy and blend nicely, but they set really fast, which can be tricky for beginner like me. I used small flat brush, like the one included and softened the edges with small dome brush and eyeshadow, or applied it as a base for colourful yet dark smokey eyes. I think it would be great for more wearable colourful graphic eye liner look, too.

I bought it for IDR 650,000. It's a limited edition, the Sales Assistant told me that they would sent back all the unsold palette to Paris, but who knows? It may still be available.

Maybelline Eye Studio in Copper Brown

I've heard good things about this eyeshadow and when I saw this for 20% off at Guardian, I knew I had to get it. It was fairly cheap at IDR 71,000 after discount.

Even though it says Copper Brown, I think it's more shimmery rose gold palette. All colours are pigmented and soft. I haven't try this on my eyes, but I think it can make small eyes look bigger

That's all for this month guys... I think the next post will be about my trip :)

August-September Empties With Mini Review

This post is inspired by Essie Button. Not exaggerating, but I've stocked up too much skincare, use few times and forget all about it. I've limit myself to only buy beauty stuff when I travel overseas. Mainly because I somehow always been attracted to products that are not available here and sometimes it's cheaper. So, for the last few months I've been trying to take care of my skin more consistently and try to finish one item before I can buy or open a new one. I have too many half-opened stuff hehe. So... these are what I've used up:

*L'occitane Angelica Moisturiser and Mask sample sachets
The moisturiser was just okay and slightly too rich for me because my skin is oily, in fact, I got tiny pimples while using it.
The first time I used the mask was on my flight to China and almost every night until I finished it. It worked wonderfully to keep my skin hydrated and in good condition. The air inside the airplane is very dry and a long haul flight would dehydrate my skin, even for the next few days my skin would feel weird, tight and make up just wouldn't sit right. Yes... oily skin can be dehydrated, too. Not to be confused with dry skin though...It's important when choosing the right moisturiser. I find that gel textured moisturiser well suited this skin type. I would definitely repurchase this mask, if I don't have too much of similar stuff already
No picture, because I forgot to keep the sachet

*Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Synchronized Complex 5ml
I got this one from a packaged deal when I bought the Idealist serum. I didn't really feel any real benefit from this eye cream but, I'm still in my early 20's and didn't use it regularly. However, it may be good for older age group.

*Dove Oil Foam Cleanser
I used this as a make up remover. It didn't work as effectively as the Shu Uemura oil cleanser, but it worked okay for light make up. I always double cleansed with other cleanser anyway, so it's not a big deal.

*Sensodyne in Pink tube
This is a good toothpaste for sensitive tooth, but won't repurchase this again only because I prefer the whitening one in silver tube.

*Johnson & Johnson's Baby Shampoo
This has helped to reduce my hair loss. I'm not sure what the real cause is. I guess it's a mix of stress and sensitive scalp, so I go with a gentle shampoo

*Pantene Detangle Spray
It's an okay product, didn't really do anything to my hair. I used it anyway because I don't want to waste it.

Hope you enjoy this :)

On my Used Up Project list:
- Shiseido The Skincare Hydro Skin Balancing Toner
- Natural Instincts Shampoo
- Natural Instincts Cream Cleanser
- The Body Shop Seaweed Moisturizer
- The Face Shop Purifying Egg White Mask
- The Body Shop Vitamin E Cream
- L'occitane Shea Butter Ultra Rich Body Cream
