It's been a while since my last post. Just combination of being busy, lazy and uninspired. Anyway... these are some of the products I've used up and bought this month
Dove Beauty Moisture Body Wash
I'm not very picky with my body care, I prefer to spend more on face products. This drugstore one is pretty good. It doesn't dry up my skin and cleans well.
Organic Instinct Natural Shampoo and Johnson's Baby Shampoo
I bought the OI in Australia, but I vaguely remember I saw this in Watsons Singapore. I experienced mild to moderate hair loss which I reckon was caused by sensitive scalp. My scalp was itchy and flaky, so I decided to switch to either natural product or baby shampoo. This shampoo doesn't contain all the bad stuff (sls, paraben, etc.. check out their website
http://www.naturalinstinct.com.au/ ) and successfully calms the itchiness down. I love the natural lavender smell. However, due to the non-sulphates formulation, it doesn't lather up well, I need to use more to get good lather.
Biore Foaming Hand Wash
Not much to say, cleans well and mildly fragrant
Maybelline Clear Smooth Shine Free Face Powder SPF 18 in Light
Not exactly finished, but I've hit the pan.. first time ever.. YEAH!! I got to say this is not my favourite powder, too powdery for my liking. The colour and extra SPF are good though, to protect and brighten my fair skin which can be dull sometimes. I bought this together with the BB cream. Overall, good combination, because it kinda offset the greyish tone in the BB cream.
Shiseido The Skin Care Hydro Balancing Softener
I've reviewed this one on my skincare routine. Basically, nice toner for a little extra cleanse and moisture
I didn't buy much beauty product this month, because I still have too many unopened skin care stuff and I'm saving up for my trip next month to Hong Kong. However, being a fan of long lasting cream shadow, I couldn't resist the
Black Tango Palette from Make Up For Ever. It contains 4 aqua cream formulation in separate little pots, i.e
- black with red highlights
- black with green highlights
- black with blue highlights
- ivory
- double ended synthetic eyeshadow brush
sorry for the blurry picture
I'm glad that they included lids for each pot, to keep them from drying out! The blackened shades are pigmented, creamy and blend nicely, but they set really fast, which can be tricky for beginner like me. I used small flat brush, like the one included and softened the edges with small dome brush and eyeshadow, or applied it as a base for colourful yet dark smokey eyes. I think it would be great for more wearable colourful graphic eye liner look, too.
I bought it for IDR 650,000. It's a limited edition, the Sales Assistant told me that they would sent back all the unsold palette to Paris, but who knows? It may still be available.
Maybelline Eye Studio in Copper Brown
I've heard good things about this eyeshadow and when I saw this for 20% off at Guardian, I knew I had to get it. It was fairly cheap at IDR 71,000 after discount.
Even though it says Copper Brown, I think it's more shimmery rose gold palette. All colours are pigmented and soft. I haven't try this on my eyes, but I think it can make small eyes look bigger
That's all for this month guys... I think the next post will be about my trip :)
